landscape and ranch design
I have professional design experience in a range of landscapes, from small herb gardens all the way up to full scale ranch design. By drawing on my inspiration from nature, I believe in designing functional landscapes by mimicking natural patterns.
My ranch design philosophy is an integration of Holistic Management, Keyline Design, and Permaculture concepts. At the core of my ranch and landscape design system philosophy is the consideration of climate and topography when placing appropriate water harvesting and irrigation systems, roads, buildings, and project divisions in order to create rapid soil development.
I have over 12 years experience in high end residential landscape design. My portfolio of work includes swimming pool designs, patio and entertainment grounds, Koi ponds and fountains, artificial putting greens, and many specialty themed gardens. My personal favorite type of garden is anything that is edible and includes hummingbirds whizzing around one's head.
For more than 10 years, I have also been working with small agriculture projects. I have designed and implemented several edible forest gardens, a 3 acre wine grape vineyard, blackberry and raspberry vineyards, an essential oil production garden, vegetable and kitchen gardens, fishing ponds, and pasture systems for horses, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and chickens.
